Ricky Polston Keynotes 10th Anniversary American Inns of Court Judicial Luncheon Held at the WCI 2026 Conference

Ricky Polston, a partner in the Tallahassee office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, Chair of the firm’s Constitutional Law Section and former Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice, served as keynote speaker at the Florida Collaborative American Inns of Court Judicial Luncheon on August 25 during the Workers’ Compensation Institute’s (WCI) 2026 Annual Conference at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

The luncheon brought together members of Florida’s judiciary and workers’ compensation legal community to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the American Inns of Court Judicial Luncheon and recognize the importance of collegiality, mentorship and professionalism within the legal profession. His topic was “Ethical Obligations to Report Attorney Misconduct,” as required for attorneys, judges, and Judges of Compensation Claims. The remarks included a point of emphasis on the improper use by attorneys of artificial intelligence, various related district court of appeals decisions and rules of the Florida Supreme Court.

Held August 23–26, the WCI 2026 Conference brought together professionals from the workers’ compensation and safety and health communities for its 80th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference and 37th Safety & Health Conference, featuring educational sessions, networking and discussions on key issues affecting Florida’s workers’ compensation system.
