Shutts & Bowen LLP Miami partner Heidi Tandy served as a panelist at Dragon Con 2026, held over Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. Heidi participated on two panels, “Happy 30th Birthday for Section 230” and “Age Verification Legislation as a Threat to Privacy,” joining fellow experts to discuss the evolving legal landscape surrounding Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and the privacy implications of emerging age-verification legislation. Heidi also gave a presentation on fair use and copyright issues as part of Dragon Con’s Young Adult Literature track, addressing key legal considerations for authors, readers, educators, and others in the young adult literature community.
Hosted by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the panels were part of Dragon Con’s extensive programming focused on technology, law, privacy, and digital rights.
Dragon Con is the largest multi-genre pop culture convention in the United States, bringing together fans and professionals across science fiction, fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film. The annual Labor Day weekend event draws close to 75,000 participants.
